West Columbia teen Zachary Alexander Kinard has been locked up this week after the owner of the truck he was breaking into caught him in the act, reports WIS.
Robert Clayton, the truck owner, said he looked out his bathroom window and saw Kinard breaking into the tool box in the bed of his truck. He said he called his neighbor to help. The two men then physcially detained Kinard until the police showed up.
But it wasn’t over yet. Kinard, refusing to give in to the arrest, had to be threatened with a taser before police could detain him. After a quick search of his pockets, they found a putty knife, white towel, cigarettes and four hydrocodone pills.
Clayton’s father-in-law, James Toole, seems to have it figured out. He says: “Some of these younger people today, they want everything given to them. They can’t get it that way. They steal it.”
Lesson: Don’t steal from pick-up trucks; their owners are tougher than you. Look out for little old lady cars. She’s sure not to put up a fight.
