Porno-mom, fatal crash, & a crack house: our top posts this week

This is the crack house that was raided this week as the FBI took down 19 drug dealers.

It was another wild week in the Metro. But, don’t fret if you feel like you’re out of the loop. We have this week’s top posts.

And, as if it were natural to do it any other way, we’ll kick this all off with our Mother of the Year.

Susan Hammond was arrested and charged on Tuesday with contributing to the delinquency of a minor after she allegedly hosted a party for her 14-year-old son and his two friends where porn was shown and alcohol was served.

“From what it sounds like, it must have been a real party going on there,” said Lexington County Sheriff James Metts.

Investigators says they were tipped off when one of the other kids’ mom’s noticed a sexually explicit Facebook chat between Hammond and her son regarding sex and oral sex.

And as the mere idea of motherhood made some of you shudder a story about another mother who was killed in a car accident surfaced that had us all running for the Klenex.

Troopers said 30-year-old Harmeitra Jenkins, who’d just dropped her kids off at school, was driving a Nissan on Green Lane and Leroy Mack was driving a Ford truck on Highway 441. According to them, Jenkins disregarded a stop sign and was hit by the truck. She died at the scene the coroner said.

This intersection at Highway 441 and Green Lane in Lee County has been one of serious concern for residents for years. It’s been the scene of car accidents for a while. Sadly, this one took the life of Midlands mother.

Then, curiosity got the best of all of you when we posted photos of a bonafide crack house. The photo came courtesy of the FBI as they announced a the take down of one of Columbia’s most wanted drug rings.

19 men were charged with conspiring to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine and 280 grams or more of crack. Another man is charged with shooting at investigators when they stormed the house.

Two of the suspects’ father was in federal court on Wednesday as he listened to the charges being read against his sons.

“I never knew it was that big, never knew it was something like that,” said Donnay Rikard. “But when I went in court, I could see looking at the charges they got against them, I’m looking like I might not see my son again while I’m living.”

So, there you go. This week in a nut shell.
